The Building Division provides building permits and code enforcement by operating under the adopted 2003 Family of International Building Codes ordinance (PDF). We ensure buildings and structures are safe by applying these nationally recognized codes and County adopted ordinances during our plan checks and inspection services. These standards are a vital part of Pearl River County's quality of life and play a key role in maintaining minimum acceptable construction standards and a predictable regulatory environment. Our goal is to assist our citizens by providing exceptional public service and to safeguard public health, safety and general welfare through structural strength, stability, sanitation, adequate light and ventilation, and energy conservation. Providing safety to life and property from fire and other hazards attributed to the built environment of a building or a structure and to provide safety to emergency responders during emergency operations.
